December Daily 2012...

I have a GOAL...I am documenting all of December....I am recording my families daily memories...

I have set in mind that this December I am completing....December Daily...

Have you heard of December Daily? Well...it is just quite an awesome little idea started by the talented Ali Edwards

Here is what she says about it:
December Daily is an album project that documents the 25 days leading up to Christmas. Many people start their documentation earlier and many people go longer. I have found that 25 days is just right for me.
  It is a chance to reflect, to share, to celebrate the season in a manageable, in-the-moment way. The entire key to this album is to put it together BEFORE December. 

I can say that I have always wanted to do December daily but was never on top of my scrapbooking game to have the album done before December....really? Well this year I said I was doing it....so Dec. 1 rolled around...bought snacks, energy drinks, and headed to ashley's scrap room and we began the process of creating our albums! It took a little while for me to get rolling, but once I did....I was on a roll!!
 I was motivated and on a mission....because I know me....if I didn't complete all the pages ahead of time...there would be no way during my busy weeks....I would be able to document each day and scrapbook a page. This way everything is pretty much done....print some pics out, grab some washi tape, a few mementos from the day, do a little journaling and you are done!! I have to say 14 days into in and I am loving it and it is getting me excited about daily scrapbooking!

Here are a few pics I took with my phone, but this weekend I plan to take out my good camera and get some better pictures of the book....

The foundation of the book....all the mini pages....I choose to used various size pages....no specific theme...just all blends together! I love multiple layers and various textures...so I am not surprised by book turned out this way!

Sunday Layout....Week 2

So....I have to apologize already....I didn't get to post this layout last Sunday....so this Sunday I am posting two of them! I was quite crazy last week...between work, conference presentation, hubby leaving for out of town, kids activities, etc...so this week I am making it up!!

I must say doing this challenge has been really great for me...because it forces me to scrap and get things done!!

Here is the layout for the week: "Rough and Tough"

My little boy (Jacques) turned 5 in July and is quite obsessed with sports to say the least!! My parents gave him custom made football pads and all the other necessary things for a little football player! He had a "football" themed birthday party and our backyard was transformed into a mini football field. So, needless to say...I have a lot of those pictures to scrap!

The other letters I used are quite old...but some of my favorites!! Back in the day famous blogger Elsie Lawson (A Beautiful Mess) used to design scrapbook products ( I wish she still did!)...and I swear I still hoard her stuff....I secretly don't want to use it because I don't know if I will ever be able to find her cute stuff again! I did some searches and you can still find the stuff on Amazon and Ebay!!

 

The green frame I used to board the pictures of jacques is also made by Love, Elsie...and I found some on Ebay.

Sunday layout...Week 1

Hey guys-

So I always attempt a challenge...sometimes I complete them...sometimes I fall short, but I really like a good scrapbook challenge to get me going!! I am quite behind on my kids scrapbooks to say the least...Life is just to busy (and I can't seem to get around to printing pictures!!) But, any ways...that really isn't an excuse...

So here is my challenge for the month of October....scrap a layout each week and post about it on Sunday! I can do this...my life is crazy...yes I know....I am stressed...yes I know....I work too much....yes I know....but that doesn't matter I need to get on the scrapping ball (after all doesn't that reduce stress?!)  So any one want to join the challenge for the month?

Here is the first layout for this month....titled " U are "

This layout was quite fast...light on the techniques, but big on the title and all the adjectives to describle my two year old right now! The picture of my little girl was taken this summer and when I look at it so many things come to mind...so I thought why not use short descriptions to describe who she is right now! I have acquired tons of stickers, labels, rub ons, etc...so I took a bunch out and began to search for ones to describe my little Juju!!

 

 

The hexagon pattern I created in the background was done by using a Crafter's Workshop stencil, embossing powder, and Viva Decor Inka Gold (color: Old Silver) I first did a layer with the hexagon stencil by embossing and then came on top of the embossing with a larger hexagon stencil and rubbed the viva decor inka gold to create the second layer of hexagons! Super easy and a cool element to the page!

I made the flower by using pleated ribbon that I recently bought from a Scrapfest vendor named BuyTheYardRibbons (only thing she sales in her booth is ribbon cut by the yard...but the ribbon is so unique and beautiful...every kind you can think of!!)
